- What are high season vs. low season rates?
Low season
rates apply from June through October. High season rates apply from
November through May.
- What are the minimum rooms and nights?
The minimum bedrooms required are 6 (out of the twelve). Whether
you rent 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 bedrooms, the entire Villa is yours
to enjoy. We only rent to one group at a time. There is an
extra-large two-bedroom Family Suite with living room, dining room,
and kitchen and is only available if all the other
ten bedrooms are rented. Between December 20 and January 5, the
minimum night stay is seven nights, with a minimum rental of all of
the bedrooms.
- What are your payment and cancellation policies?
Check or money order only. We do not accept credit cards. An initial
50% deposit of the room rental fee is required to confirm your
reservation. The balance of the room rental fee and a refundable
security deposit of $500.00 are due within 30 days prior to arrival.
Refunds are based on the total room rate, not the deposit amount.
Full refunds will be made only if we are able to rebook the Villa
for the exact same dates and number of bedrooms. Cancellation prior
to 90 days is 80% refundable. 61-90 days - 60% refund. 31-60 days -
40% refund. 30 days or less, no refund, unless the Villa is
rebooked for the exact period and occupancy rate cancelled. For the
Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving weeks, cancellations prior to
90 days is 50% refundable, and cancellations from 0-89 days no
refund (unless we are able to rebook the exact same dates and number
of bedrooms.) Refunds in all cases will be made upon rebooking.
- How will I get from the airport to Villa Las Palmeras?
You can rent a car, take a taxi, or we can arrange your pickup in
a couple of large Suburbans. The address is 214 Callejon de la
Igualdad in Colonial Amapas.
- What about tipping in Mexico?
Gratuities are always optional. However, you may want to keep in
mind that most workers including maids and house managers depend on
tips for a large portion of their income. (Taxi drivers regularly
include tipping charges in their fee, you do not have to tip the
taxi drivers.)
- When is check in and out times?
The check in time is 3:00 p.m. The check out time is 12:00 noon.
- Does Villa Las Palmeras have a telephone?
Yes. You may buy calling cards from the houseman, and use it on
the special cell phone he will give you. You may buy them in 100 or
200 peso amounts (around $10.00 or $20.00).
- Is maid service included in the rental?
Yes. The maid will be available throughout your stay. The
houseman will also be there to assist you with any problems,
questions, or concerns. Linens, towels, and daily maid service is
included. (Please bring your own beach towels.)
- Is a cook available?
Yes, a cook is on the premises, and she is available at your
request for $95.00 a meal (up to 14 people; $5.00 for every extra
person). Our wonderful cook
will prepare Traditional Mexican, Fresh Seafood, Steak, Pasta,
Chicken, etc. All orders must be pre-paid the day before. Food will
be charged on an "at cost" basis. You are welcome to use the
kitchen facilities to stock the refrigerator, prepare sandwiches,
breakfast cereal, coffee, mix drinks, etc., but all propane use in
the cooking of foods is only to be used by the chef. If you do want
to use the propane to cook for yourselves, there is a $250.00
propane charge for the week.
- Should I bring my own bottled water?
There is plenty of bottled Arrowhead Mountain Spring Water at
Villa Las Palmeras, but you are more than welcome to bring your own
if you wish.
- How many people can comfortably stay in Villa Las Palmeras?
There are 12 bedrooms, and a total of 17 beds. We recommend a
maximum of 34 guests (including children), or 24 adults, to make
your stay as comfortable as possible, and not to apply undue burden
on the staff. However, if there are more people in your party,
arrangements can be made to accommodate them.
- How large is the pool?
It is a wonderfully sized 35 X 20, with a sitting step along the
side. There is also an attached children's pool, a foot and a half
deep for the little ones. The pool is heated, so you can enjoy
the pool year-round.
- How are the rooms furnished?
Five of the rooms have 1 King and 1 Queen in each, and of these
rooms three have air-conditioning. Five rooms have a four poster bed,
Queen-sized, all of which have air conditioning. ALL of the bedrooms
have fans, and a fabulous, unobstructed view of the Bay. There is an
extra-large two-bedroom Family Suite with living room, dining room,
kitchen and private patio. It is extremely large (it runs the length of the
Villa), has a King and a Queen bed and has air-conditioning.
